1ST TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING IN GREECE

The first face to face meeting of “#STOP -Small Touches for Our Planet co-funded by Erasmus Programs was held on 11-12 February in Thessaloniki with the participation of partners : Kargenc Kulubu, Hellas for Us, #AUDELE, #AVES #AUDELE . We talked about the project activities and outputs with all partners and presented the first bulletins and modules of the project prepared by each partner. The project aims to raise awareness about climate carbon and water footprints, to decrease carbon and water footprints, and to create synergies by giving social messages on climate change. In this respect, we will have training course, youth exchange, seminar, and social media campaigns during the project.

TRAINING COURSE

As project partners from Turkey, Greece, India and Uruguay, we were together for the training course in Uruguay on 6-12 May, 2022. During the training course, we had a training about how to use social media more effectively; shared climate and environmental problems in partner countries, presented the studies of Climate and Gas, Climate and Recycling, Climate and Water, Climate and Energy, Climate and Forests; and shared good practices that would encourage taking responsibility for climate issues. Also, we discussed about how to be a catalyst of social awareness with social media campaign on climate change by making SWOT analysis on young people and NGOs; and made a study visit to the Humedales del Santa Lucia, which is a wetland area. Lastly, we developed the non-formal education tools on five issues we have identified in fighting against climate change. The vehicles will be recommended to young people participating in the youth exchange and will be supported by outdoor activities. We had a fruitful training course with all youth workers from partner countries and finalized the training course by making preparation for the Youth Exchange activities in Togo.

YOUTH EXCHANGE

STOP- Youth Exchange activities were carried out in Kpalime, Togo on 21 July-1 August, 2022 with the participation of 30 young people. During the Youth Exchange, we carried out different activities related to climate-forest, climate-energy, climate-gas, climate-water, and climate-recycling for each day. We had a fruitful training course with all youth workers from partner countries and finalized the training course by making preparation for the Youth Exchange activities in Togo.

DAY 1

DAY 1: We started the day with energizers and ice-breaker activities, program presentation, and local cultural presentation of Togo. We ended the day with good practice presentations, some games with kids and city tour to discover the culture and city.

DAY 2: Climate and Gas

We discussed about "Consciousness Shopping", “Damages of Cosmetics / Care / Cleaning products” with all together and made presentations with group working workshops. After the discussion session, we went to markets and stores to check where the products are coming to Togo to see the carbon emissions of the products and then we finalized the days with mottos: - Take action! - Less words, more actions! - Don’t buy from Amazon! Be sensitive! - Eat meat twice per month! - Use second hand clothing! - Less is more! - Go green! - Be a part of green local activities! - Reduce the distances! - Explore your local environment! - Produce at home ! - Be creative and more active! - Consume actions! We had a fruitful training course with all youth workers from partner countries and finalized the training course by making preparation for the Youth Exchange activities in Togo.

DAY 3: CLIMATE AND WATER

In the morning session, we visited Kpalime Waterfall with all participants and we had a great time in the nature. After that, we had a session "Let's Guess" about water consumption to make any products to attract attention on our habits which causes water consumption. Here is our motto for the day: Water is life, don't waste it!

DAY 4: CLIMATE AND ENERGY

Today we had the mayor of Kpalime as visitor, who is the president of Climate Change Tackling in Africa and we presented the our project activities to him. Then we focused on climate change and energy relationship with the lead of Hellas for Us partner. All participants joined the workshop sessions and presented their energy topics. We had a great day with game activities which attracted attention on energy and climate change. It was both fruithful and joyful day with full of information. After all, we ended the day with a visit to the Mayor of Kpalime at the Kpalime Municipality and presented to him our project t-shirt.

DAY 5: CLIMATE AND FOREST

Today we discussed about "the importance of forest for climate" with all participants and we made a visit to a village in Kpalime, which was one of the best experiences for all of us. We visited villagers and farming area with local people and we were informed about the farming situation related climate. Then we played informative games with kids in the village. After all, we attracted attention of villagers and kids with drama activities about climate and forest and what we can do individually to protect forests. Actually, we planned to have a planting activity with all participants; however, there was no rain and we couldn't. Therefore, we presented all the plants to the adult delegation of the village to plant on behalf of #smalltouchesforourplanet project.

DAY 6: CLIMATE AND RECYCLING ♼♲

Regarding the today's topic, we all discussed about: The contribution of recycling to struggling against climate change”, “What is Zero Waste?”, and “Recycled cosmetics, care and cleaning products". Circular economy Recycling labels and symbols on the products Good recycling practices in the countries We ended the day with Togo Cultural Night

DAY 7

We were happy to end successfully our Youth Exchange in Togo. We ended the meeting with discussing social media campaigns of the project, which are small blogs, paid companies, quick stories, quick quiz and reel videos; evaluation of the project and discussing the next steps of the project activities. We all were appreciated during the project with active participation and we leaving the country not being like the same with our life before the project.

SEMINAR IN INDIA, 21-22 NOVEMBER, 2022

- We held the seminar meeting of the Small Touches for Our Planet (STOP) Project, in Aurangabad, India on 21-22 December with the participation of all our partners.
- In the meeting, we presented and evaluated the module studies on climate-water, climate-forest, climate-gas, climate-energy and climate-recycling that we developed for young people and youth workers throughout the duration of the project.
- We completed the planning of our next local activities and social campaigns by making SWOT analysis of STOP project activities.
- We have successfully completed the preparatory planning of the final conference, which will be held in Turkey on June 4-5, and the evaluation of the seminar meeting, and the seminar meeting of STOP project.

Final Conference in Turkey, 4-5 June 2023

Small Touches for Our Planet- Final Conference was successfully held on 5th of June, World Environment Day, at @tedsakaryakoleji in Sakarya. We presented the developed modules which are climate change and energy, climate and forest, climate and recycling, climate and water, and climate and gas; and we had a productive conference by discussing these issues with almost 100 hundred young people participation.

We ended the conference with little surprise (thermoses, notebooks, pens, t-shirts, climate guideline, and bracelets )to the young people in order to keep our small touches for our planet. At least, we will reduce our plastic usage with our thermoses and to continue our story with our small touches, we invite all young people to use thermoses So, while you are having your drink, take your thermoses with you to have your drink into the thermos and tag our account with the hashtag #stopforplanet
